What are the best games to buy for the 2022 holiday season?

The end of 2022 is rapidly approaching so whether you are picking up a last-minute gift or getting a little something for yourself, we’ve put together our top list of games you need to buy for this holiday season.

Elden Ring

Price: $60 and up

Consoles: PC, Xbox, & PlayStation

Elden Ring released earlier this year and made a massive name for itself, nabbing several “Game of the Year” awards. This open world, action, RPG set a new bar for the genre by building on its predecessors and doing everything the right way. No matter your gaming style, Elden Ring will challenge and captivate you. If you haven’t picked up a copy, you are missing out.

The Last of Us Part 1

Price: $70

Consoles: PS5, PC (coming March 2023)

While The Last of Us Part 1 is a remake, it still earned a spot on our list. Naughty Dog brought every element of their acclaimed original zombie apocalypse game up a notch so whether you are looking for a replay or you just want to pick it up before the HBO series airs next year, The Last of Us Part 1 is the way to go.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Price: $70

Consoles: PC, Xbox, & PlayStation

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is not our favorite game on this list. Its campaign mode was unremarkable and frankly disappointing. That aside, it’s not a bad game. The multiplayer is solid and is arguably one of the best FPS multiplayer games available right now, if you can look past the technical issues. So if you are a CoD fan or you just want to keep up with the most talked about games in the industry, you’ll want to pick up a copy.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Price: $40

Consoles: Switch & Wii U

We know Breath of the Wild is nothing new but if you haven’t grabbed this smash hit, now is the perfect time. Its sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, is set to release in 2023 so nearly every retailer is putting it on sale (we’ve seen as low as $28.) Grabbing this must have for yourself or as a gift for someone else is a no brainer.
