Giveaway winner picker
Paste your entries, choose how many winners, and pick them at random.
Your entries stay in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Paste a list of entries, choose how many winners you need, and press the button. The draw happens on your device, every winner is different, and nothing leaves your browser.
How it works
The picker reads one entry per line and ignores blank lines. If you leave "Remove duplicate entries" on, two lines that match apart from capital letters or spaces at the start or end count as one entry, and the first spelling is kept.
For the draw, it uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator. It throws away any random number that would favor some entries over others, so every entry has the same chance.
Winners are taken one at a time from the remaining entries, so nobody is picked twice. If you ask for 3 winners from 50 entries, you get 3 different entries.
Your entries stay on your device. The page does not upload them, store them or send them anywhere, and you do not need an account to use it. Close the tab and they are gone.
Tips for a fair draw
- Say how winners are picked in your rules. Write a line such as "Winners are drawn at random from all valid entries" before the giveaway starts, so nobody has to guess.
- Record or screenshot the draw. A short screen recording, or a screenshot that shows the entry count and the time, lets you show how the winners came up.
- Pick backup winners. Some winners will not reply or will not meet your rules. Draw a few extra names and keep them in order, so you can move to the next one without drawing again.
- Check that winners meet your rules. Confirm that each winner did the required actions and is eligible in their country before you announce them. If one is not, move to the next backup instead of redrawing.
- Announce the result in the open. Post the winners where people entered, and tell them how many entries there were.
FAQ
Is this random winner picker really random?
It uses the cryptographic random number generator built into your browser. A fair draw also depends on your list, so make sure it holds one line for each valid entry and nothing else.
Does anyone see my list of entries?
No. The picker runs in your browser and makes no network requests with your entries. They are not uploaded or saved, and they disappear when you close or reload the page.
Can the same person win twice?
Not in one draw, because each pick comes out of the remaining entries. If a person appears on several lines, turn on "Remove duplicate entries" so they count once, or leave it off if you give extra chances on purpose.
